Growing up in the 70's with Nascar was fun. The season never seemed to stop. One of the favorite things that I can remember about it was playing with hot wheels and pretending to be Richard Petty in his #43 Dodge. My friends and I would argue over who would be Petty. Now I go to one race a year and love it. I try to watch it on TV but end up thinking how much better the race is in person. That's relay my only complaint about watching it on TV, they can try to make it as real as possible but it is nothing like sensing and seeing it in person. If you are studying to be a sociologist or a psychiatrist, visiting a Nascar race should be a mandatory part of your education. The racetrack seems to be a way for us guys to socialize with other people who share our interest in the sport. For the most part we end up meeting some very nice people. I Go to Dover every fall and always end up meeting different people and they all have very interesting stories to tell. I encourage you to try to go to a Nascar race and experience it yourself. Most of the people I talk to about Nascar either love it or hate it. The overall experience was worth my $85 dollar ticket.
